The story...
Since starting Martin Production over twenty years ago we have received numerous CVs from theatre and event production staff and show crew looking for work opportunities as well as ongoing contact from employers looking for staff and crew. The recruitment process has, in the past, mostly been carried out by word of mouth. For some time now it has occurred to us that there must be a better way to manage recruitment within the live performance and event industry. Eventually the solution to this problem became ShowLoop – an industry specific online platform aimed at creating a connected community.
Richard Martin, Dawn Martin and Will Sheehan together have decades of combined experience and have benefitted from working across many sectors of the industry. Our vision is for ShowLoop to benefit all industry professionals and help to secure the future of the live performance and event industry by re-defining how workers and employers connect, particularly in the post-pandemic world, whilst acknowledging the traditions that we value greatly and which make each live performance the unique experience it is for industry professionals and audiences alike.

Richard and Dawn Martin together have extensive experience in all aspects of theatre and event production and have been involved in the recruitment of staff and crew for many productions since forming the company in 1999.

Will Sheehan is a freelance producer of theatre and events with extensive experience of working in the live performance industry.
RM’s technical career commenced in 1979 with Opera Australia, progressing in 1989 to Cameron Mackintosh Pty Ltd as Technical Manager, touring throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Africa. Founding Martin Production in 1999, Richard provides technical direction and supervision of major productions and events throughout the world, including the West End
and Broadway.
Notable recent credits include: King Kong Live Onstage – Broadway and The Lion King, International Tour. In 2021 Richard will provide Technical Direction for upcoming productions of Hamilton and Moulin Rouge.
Richard also consults on the development of entertainment venues and productions for theatre, arena, stadium, theme parks and events.
Since graduating with a degree in the Performing Arts, Dawn has gained considerable experience working in a number of roles within the theatre and events industries in the UK, the West End, touring internationally and within Australia.
Most recently Dawn was Company Manager for the Michael Cassel Group’s productions of Kinky Boots, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Production Associate for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Princess Theatre, Melbourne and Executive Producer for the
2019 Helpmann Awards at Arts Centre Melbourne.
Dawn has been the General Manager for Martin Production Pty Ltd since founding the company in 1999 with her husband and business partner Richard Martin.
Will has three decades of experience producing and touring shows and events in Australia. He was General Manager of the Griffin Theatre Company and managed the Stables Theatre in Kings Cross and produced the company’s most successful award-winning production of Holding the Man by Tommy Murphy.
Will was co-founder of Cre8ion which assisted in presenting Vivid Sydney, Sydney New Year’s Eve, World AIDS Day events and the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade and presented the children’s show Fluff on Broadway at the New Victory Theatre in New York City.
Will was Executive Producer of the 2018 Helpmann Awards and Associate Producer for six previous Helpmann’s.
